BCHS Band & Choir Participates in KMEA In Service Conference Posted On: Friday, February 14, 2020 On February 5-8, 6 members of the BCHS band participated with the All-State Bands and Guitar Orchestra held at the annual KMEA In Service conference in Louisville. These students had to survive 2 rounds of auditions and were selected out of 950 applicants who made it to the final round. This is accomplishment is truly the highest honor a student musician can attain during their high school career. The following students participated in KMEA All-State Choir: Pictured from the left is Todd Simpson, Garren McCoy (not pictured), Raeanne Brown (teacher), Bayley Hammer, Briana Crowder, and Ella Jones. Weston Hoffman made both Choir and Band, but performed with the Band. Brianna Crowder also had the opportunity to solo with the KMEA All State SATB Choir. Click here to see the performance. Read More about School Closing/Delay Procedures for Inclement Weather 2019-2020 Barren County Non-Traditional Instruction Days - iLearn@home Posted On: Tuesday, November 5, 2019 The Barren County School District will once again participate in the the Non-Traditional Instruction Plan known as iLearn@home for the 2019-20 school year. As a district, we join over 83 other school districts to address instruction on snow days (or other days school would not be in session) differently. The Barren County School District will be utilizing FIVE weather related closing days as iLearn@home days but, at the discretion of the superintendent and district leadership, there will not be more than 3 days the same week. Schools are preparing now for Dec 2nd - as this is the date that all schools will be ready to implement should weather require us to use these days. Be looking for information from our schools for students and parents so they will know what to expect if weather dictates a closing in the coming weeks.
